Chapter 7 of 7

The Attic Walkthrough

The final gameplay chapter: forgotten dreams and the music of the relationship. May sings to activate machinery; Cody throws a cymbal shield to block lasers and the pair earn jetpacks for full flight. The ending is a concert victory lap using every musical mechanic.

Co-op roles: read this first

The Attic is about harmony under pressure. May's song only works if Cody protects the right node; Cody's flight only matters if May opens the route.

May — Voice

  • Sings to activate machinery and open paths.
  • Hold the note timing so Cody can land on the lit platform.
  • Lead the orchestra recruitment in Symphony.

Cody — Cymbal Jetpacks

  • Throws a cymbal shield to block lasers and protect May.
  • Uses jetpacks for full Z-axis flight once recruited.
  • Call your landing so May times the next note.

Co-op playbook for The Attic

The Attic is the final gameplay chapter, and its theme is harmony under pressure: May's song only works if Cody shields the right node, and Cody's flight only matters if May opens the route. There is no traditional boss — the climax is a coordinated concert — so the challenge is precision and timing, not survival.

Communication cadence

May should call her note timing — "holding the note, shield the left laser" — so Cody knows when to throw the cymbal. Cody should call his landing — "cymbal up, landing on three" — so May times the next note. Once you earn jetpacks in Symphony, agree who leads the Z-axis flight so you do not collide in the air. During Turn Up, count the beat out loud; the platforms answer the music, not your eyes.

Pacing & difficulty at a glance

The chapter runs about 2 to 2.5 hours. Difficulty is moderate and steady — the DJ-themed Turn Up section with its beat platforms is the toughest spike — and it eases into the celebratory concert finale. Treat the end as a victory lap.

SectionRough timeDifficulty
Setting the Stage~30 min1 of 3
Rehearsal~20 min2 of 3
Symphony (Volleyball)~30 min2 of 3
Turn Up~25 min3 of 3
A Grand Finale~20 min2 of 3

Times are editorial estimates for a first clear and exclude replays and the five minigame detours.

Camera & movement

The flight sections in Symphony and the beat platforms in Turn Up are the moments the shared camera works hardest. Keep a visible gap in the air so both jetpacks stay in frame, and let Cody's cymbal shield block the strobe lasers before May steps onto a lit platform. In the concert finale, follow the choreography together rather than racing ahead.

If you get stuck

Most Attic stalls come from one of these — check in order:

  1. Unprotected note: if May's path is cut, Cody missed a laser — re-time the cymbal to the beat.
  2. Beat mistiming: on Turn Up, jump to the audio cue, not the visual; count it out loud together.
  3. Flight collision: in Symphony, agree the lead so the two jetpacks don't cross.
  4. Missed minigame: four of the five minigames cluster in Setting the Stage; Volleyball is later in Symphony.

Track the five Attic minigames in the Completion Tracker, and see the minigame index for every location.

1. Setting the Stage (hub)

A hub of musical instruments. Four of the chapter's five minigames are clustered near the start here.

Steps

  1. Learn the sing/cymbal loop on simple instrument puzzles.
  2. Play Slotcars, Chess, Musical Chairs, and Track Runner near the start.
  3. Move to Rehearsal.
Co-op script

May: "holding the note — shield the left laser."

Cody: "cymbal up, landing on three."

2. Rehearsal

Learn the voice and cymbal mechanics properly. May opens paths by singing; Cody protects with cymbal blocks. This is the teaching run before the spectacle.

Steps

  1. May sings gates open; Cody blocks the lasers that would cut the path.
  2. Coordinate the first flight beats together.

3. Symphony + Volleyball

Recruit an orchestra of toys and earn jetpacks for Z-axis flight. The chapter's last minigame lives here.

Steps

  1. Recruit each instrument section as a co-op pair.
  2. Gain jetpacks; practice Z-axis flight coordination.
  3. Play Volleyball in this section.

4. Turn Up

A DJ-themed section with neon lights. Platforms appear to the music's beat — time your jumps to the audio cues, not your eyes.

Steps

  1. Jump on beat-triggered platforms; Cody shields May from strobe lasers.
  2. Build to the concert entrance.

5. A Grand Finale

The concert: a victory lap using every musical mechanic with a spectacular light show. hone.gg frames this as less combat, more spectacle and celebration — the emotional close of the game.

No boss — concert finale

The Attic has no traditional boss arena. Its climax is a coordinated concert — "less combat, more spectacle," as hone.gg frames it. The only hostile entities are microphone snakes (regular foes you disable, not a boss), and the emotional close is the Symphony performance. This is verified across hone.gg, gamepur's step-by-step walkthrough (Setting the Stage / Rehearsal / Symphony, enemies = microphone snakes), and independent search — so it is asserted here, not left pending.

Source cross-check

  • Chapter order & theme: hone.gg (Chapter 7, Harmony and Music, final gameplay chapter). Matches the hub table.
  • Tools: hone.gg (May = Voice, Cody = Cymbal Jetpacks; jetpacks grant Z-axis flight).
  • Sections: hone.gg — Setting the Stage, Rehearsal, Symphony, Turn Up, A Grand Finale.
  • Minigames: Slotcars, Chess, Musical Chairs, Track Runner (Setting the Stage) + Volleyball (Symphony) per minigames.json (powerpyx + playhints cross-verified).
  • Boss — confirmed none: The Attic has no traditional boss. hone.gg calls the finale "less combat, more spectacle"; gamepur's detailed walkthrough confirms the only enemies are microphone snakes and the close is the Symphony concert. Independent re-search agrees. The chapter is excluded from hone.gg's "11+ boss battles" total.
